We are committed to ensuring you feel confident during your stay wit us. We want you to enjoy your stay without anxiety for cleanliness and risk.
t is our top priority to make sure our home is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and sanitized prior to guest check-in. We provide an intense cleaning regime during changeovers between guests, including the use of virucidal cleaning products and disinfecting all linens. We are extending our time between guests to at least 48 hours and have taken professional advice for our cleaning procedures We are following a format of cleaning recommended by VRBO/HomeAway along with recommendations from the CDC. Please reach out with any questions before or during your stay.
We ask our guests to remember to follow the government advice in relation to Coronavirus and do not travel if you suspect you may be infected.
Our townhome is a newly renovated home with a modern, mid-century vibe, light-filled and tranquil just a block from the beach and across the street from America's newest National Park, the Indiana Dunes National Park. We are close to Chicago with easy access by train or car. You can easily spend the morning on the beach and the evening going to a show or visiting the city for famous Chicago deep dish pizza.
The house was designed by Chicago Architects Bauer-Latoza and built in 2008. Our home has two levels.
The landscaping is intentionally "managed" dune grass to preserve the land surrounding our home. A naturalist regularly comes to remove invasive species and spread native seeds. The plants and flowers attract birds and many butterflies.
Enjoy your morning coffee and bird watch or sneak out in the evening for some nighttime star gazing from our balconies or sit and listen to the waves on the beach.

The main living space is on the upper floor and includes dining and living area, galley kitchen, master bed and bathroom and 2 balconies. The master bedroom has a king bed -- with the windows open you can often hear waves lapping from the beach front. The master bath is newly renovated with a luxury shower. There is central air conditioning for the warm summer months.

The kitchen and dining area are fully equipped with everything you need for a great meal: pots/pans, grilling tools, blender, hand mixer, immersion blender, toaster, nespresso machine (with pods), kettle, coffee press, espresso pot, dishes & cutlery to serve 10. The kitchen-aide grill is just outside the kitchen door on the balcony. We provide some basic kitchen supplies to get you going when you first arrive. We can also purchase starter groceries for you.
The ground floor can be used as a separate living space...there is a 2nd bedroom, a 3rd bedroom/den with double futon and bathroom, laundry room with new whirlpool washer/dryer, and back furnished patio. The bedroom and den have private access doors to the patio. Both rooms also access the bathroom. All linens and towels are provided.
Our north and south facing balconies and patio are fully furnished -- the lower level patio has outdoor lounge seating and umbrella and swing chair for use in or out of the house. The upper balcony has cafe' tables that can be combined to seat 8.
A "communal" fire pit is found just south of our building which you are free to use.
For the beach: A small beach wagon is available for your use. We have a beach blanket and chairs. Store your "toys" i.e. bikes/kayaks, etc in the garage. We also have 2 bicycles for you to use to cruise the area.
.Sound-isolating construction -- We rarely, if ever, hear sound from our neighbors homes. When we apologized to our neighbor for noise from using a jack hammer on our laundry room floor he said he never heard a thing! It is a tranquil space and we love our neighbors and hope you will too.
Parking is suitable for at least 3 cars and the garage can hold one car.
